| Preservation Gifts ![]() | Preserve a legal heritage for future scholars by funding conservation treatment and archival storage for fragile volumes in the Law Library's rare book collection. Conserve (clean, deacidify, & repair as necessary) and digitize approximately one hundred 18th-century maps of Southeast Asia and Japan from the Library's Asia Collections. Reclaim history with an endowment to preserve Cornell Library's diverse collections for future generations of students, faculty, and scholars. Preservation endowments fund the repair of damaged volumes in circulating collections, restoration of crumbling rare books and manuscripts, and the preservation of fragile and unique items in new electronic formats. Bookplates crediting the donor's foresight and generosity are placed in all works preserved with endowment income. |
| Digital Library Initiatives ![]() | Re-Live Your Student Years Online--Digitize one volume (an academic year's worth) of the Cornell Daily Sun. Cornell Library and the newspaper are collaborating to create a full-text, Web-based electronic archive of Sun issues. Click here for more info. Open the Library's collections and services to Cornellians far and wide by supporting the expansion of the Library's Alumni and Friends Access Service (this Web site!). Help digitize rare books and manuscripts with a gift for new digital photography equipment. A complete equipment & software list is available. Examples include: Expand the audience for library exhibitions with a gift to create online versions of exhibits from the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections. Support the Library’s Leading Edge Initiatives Fund, which supports the acquisition of new electronic resources, the digitization of collections for use in teaching, and expansion of online access to library resources. |

Enhance Cornell's rapidly expanding Religious Studies program by establishing a named endowment for the purchase of library materials on Christian or general comparative religious subjects. Help students earn their way through Cornell by endowing a library student worker position. Preserve Cornell Library's diverse collections for future generations of students, faculty, and scholars.
